This winter in Austin has been very mild. We had a few days in the 40-50 F (5-10 C ) but many more days in the 70s (20 C).

Isla Mujeres II
We are still very much enjoying ourselves on this beautiful island.
Yesterday we took a snorkeling trip, got to see a sting ray, barracudas, soft corals and many fish schools.
This morning we visited some small maya ruins at the southern tip of the island and we are now kicking back on the main beach which has awesome smoothies, long chairs and Wi-fi.

Isla Mujeres
Oliver is about to turn 18 months and our 8-year anniversary is coming up so we decided it was a good time for Ben and I to take our first little getaway without Oliver.
Oliver is in very good hands staying with his grandmother KK, his great grandmother Mimi, his aunt Amy, uncle Blake and cousins Reed, Lily and Emily.
A short 2-hour flight from Austin to Cancun, and a 15-min ferry ride to Isla Mujeres, here we are in Mexico for 4 days.
We're staying at a nice Mexican lady's house. She rents out a couple bungalows around her pool overlooking the Caribbean and bunch of iguanas.
It's also in the less touristy area of the island, it's quiet, and we found an awesome local restaurant nearby with great ceviche and very strong margaritas!
