While Ben and I went Christmas shopping in downtown Montpellier, Oliver had way too much fun with his grand-parents!

 

Sete

Every Wednesday Sete, a little fishing town 30 min west of Montpellier hosts a big market, mostly famous for his seafood market. We had so much fun at the market, we forgot to take pictures there, but here are a few pictures of the canal going through the town.

First beach time

My parents live in Montpellier, near the Mediterranean coast. Oliver got to have his first beach experience there. Not warm but sand and shells are so much fun!

We had a good amount of apprehension traveling overseas with Oliver at this age. As they say, traveling with an 18 month-old is like traveling with a chimpanzee... pretty much impossible to keep them down in a plane seat, especially when the flight is 10 hours!

A friend gave us this little car seat carrier which was super handy to haul Oliver around airport and train stations! I wouldn't say the trip was fun but the car seat ended up being a life saver.

Not too bad after 15 hours of travel...

About once a week or when i need some extra time to teach or work, Oliver goes to a nanny (nounou) who also takes care of another sweet baby girl. She took this cute pictures of them today and texted it to me.

Jammin

Oliver is a natural dancer. Whenever he hears music at home, in the car, or at the store, his little body starts waving and his head moves from side to side. A few weeks ago we went to a wedding, and he was the attraction of the crowd dancing low with his bottom sticking back. I didn't get a chance to film him then but here is a little sample at our friend's birthday party last weekend.

Austin Children's museum

The Austin Children's museum is more of a gigantic playground for kids of all ages then really a museum...
On Monday morning, it is open to children under the age of 3 only and Oliver was like a kid in a candy store. We could have spent the entire day there as he had found his heaven.
